6.2 Steel and Concrete Structures (Basic Design) (AArc0602) Steel structural design (including trusses). Basic RCC design procedures for beams, one-way/two-way slabs, columns, footings. Reinforcement detailing.

6.3 Survey, Estimating, Costing, Specification (AArc0603) Survey principles, classification, linear measurement, leveling. Area/volume calculation methods. Estimates, quantity calculation, rate analysis, bill of quantities. Specification purpose, types, importance.

6.4 Basic Concepts of Climatology (AArc0604) Solar radiation, solar chart, altitude, azimuth, wall azimuth, shadow angles, absorption/reflection. Thermal aspects: heat transmission, absorptivity, reflectivity, emissivity. Thermal control techniques for varied climates.

6.5 Lighting and Acoustics (AArc0605) Natural/artificial lighting principles. Illumination design/calculations. Basic acoustics design, insulation, factors for good acoustic hall design.

6.6 Passive Energy Conservation Methods (AArc0606) Climate/site response. Design solutions for mountain, hill, and terai climates.
