### 📘 **NEA Technical Service – 7th Level – Exam Syllabus Summary**

#### **1. Examination Structure**

* **Two Stages:**
  1. **First Stage:** Written Examination (200 marks)
  2. **Second Stage:** Interview (30 marks)

**First Stage – Written Exam (200 marks):**

* **Paper 1:** General Knowledge & Aptitude (100 marks)
* **Paper 2:** Technical/Service-Related Detailed Knowledge (100 marks)

**Question Types & Distribution:**

* **MCQs:** 50 questions × 1 mark = 50 marks
* **Short Answer:** 6 questions × 5 marks = 30 marks
* **Long Answer:** 2 questions × 10 marks = 20 marks

#### **2. Paper 1 – General Knowledge & Aptitude (100 marks)**

**Section (क) – General Knowledge (30 marks)**

* Nepal’s geography, climate, rivers, lakes, minerals, natural resources
* Social & cultural aspects: traditions, ethnicity, language, arts
* Electricity development in Nepal
* Federal, provincial, and local governance structure
* World geography, continents, oceans, latitude/longitude
* International relations: UN, SAARC, recent global events

**Section (ख) – Aptitude Test (20 marks)**

* Verbal & Non-verbal reasoning
* Vocabulary, coding-decoding, logical sequence, figure series, analytical reasoning
* Numerical ability: arithmetic, percentages, ratios, profit/loss, time & work

**Section (ग) – Institutional & Social Media (50 marks)**

* Constitution of Nepal
* Nepal Electricity Authority Act, 2041
* Electricity Act, 2049 & Regulations
* Public Procurement Act
* Corruption Control Act, Good Governance Act
* Environmental Protection Act

#### **3. Paper 2 – Technical Knowledge (100 marks)**

**Topics Covered:**

1. **Electricity Development in Nepal**
   * History, supply-demand trends, hydropower potential
   * NEA’s objectives, structure, achievements, challenges
   * Restructuring in federal context
2. **Development Administration**
   * Planning, sustainable development, public-private partnership
   * Public administration functions
3. **Management & Financial Analysis**
   * Management concepts, leadership, teamwork, decision-making
   * Project management (CPM, PERT)
   * Financial analysis methods (IRR, NPV, payback period)
4. **New Trends in Power Sector**
   * Renewable energy sources, IPP role, PPA/PDA
   * Energy exchange, banking, regional grid interconnection
