Sub-Tropical Monsoon Climate 🌞

  • Found in the Terai, Bhavar, Doon, and Chure areas up to an altitude of 1,200 meters (4,000 feet).

  • Temperature reaches 38-42°C in summer and drops to 15-5°C in winter.

  • It is very hot, especially in the Terai region, including Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj, and Kailali, as well as in inner Madhesh areas like Dang and Surkhet.


Warm Temperate Climate 🌤️

  • Found at altitudes from 1,200 to 2,100 meters (4,000-7,000 feet) in the Chure and Mahabharat mountain ranges.

  • Warm in summer (24-31°C) and cold in winter (0°C).


Cool Temperate Climate ❄️

  • Found at altitudes from 2,100 to 3,350 meters (7,000-11,000 feet) in the Mahabharat mountain range.

  • Warm in summer (15-20°C) and very cold in winter (0°C).


Alpine Climate 🏔️

  • Found at altitudes from 3,350 to 5,000 meters (11,000-16,000 feet) in the Himalayan region.

  • Temperature rises to 10°C during Chaitra, Baishakh, and Jestha but remains below 0°C for about 9 months of the year.


Tundra Climate 🌨️

  • The coolest and driest climate in the Himalayan region, also called Polar or Tundra climate.

  • Continuous snowfall occurs, and the temperature remains below 0°C at altitudes above 5,000 meters (16,000 feet).

  • Known as the Himalayan desert climate.
